We Don't Do Shady
No hidden server seed, no “trust us.” The dice come straight out of Algorand block seeds, and anyone can replay any race from any node.
The Field Is Drawn
When a race opens, the lineup is shuffled from the seed of the latest Algorand block. Already final, already public.
Entries Lock
At the bell, the race commits to a future block, one that hasn't been produced yet. Nobody (not even Big Jack) can know it.
The Chain Rolls
That block's VRF seed becomes sha256("degen-downs:v1:race:" + raceId + ":" + seed), which drives every roll, quirk and tie-break.
You Verify
Punch the race ID and block number into the verifier. It fetches the block from a public node and replays every tick right in your browser.

Dumb Questions
What is Degen Downs?
An animal dice racing game from Dost Backalley. Four or five of eight degenerates (a donkey, a cheetah, a puffin and a barnyard full of reprobates) race down a 24-space track, and you back a runner with PP for a fixed reward multiplier. Play in your browser or in Discord.
How do I know the races are fair?
There is no secret server seed. The lineup comes from the latest Algorand block when a race opens, and every roll comes from a block that is only produced after entries close. Anyone can replay any race from its block on the Verify page.
Does signing in cost anything?
No. You sign a Sign In With Algorand message in your wallet. It is a signature, not a transaction, so it is free and nothing is written to the chain.
How do I get free PP?
PP is the Degen Downs token on Algorand (ASA 3390687851). Spin the daily wheel for up to 2,500 PP on the Claim page or with /claim in Discord, once per wallet and Discord account per day, resetting at midnight UTC. Your first spin also comes with a 100 PP welcome bonus. Your wallet must be linked to Discord and opted in to PP.
